Building up your body to feel better, move better, live better.
Physical Therapy at PeakRx is geared towards helping active individuals bridge the gap between pain and performance. Our one-on-one, patient-centered sessions allow for customized treatment to help you get back to the things you love to do, whether that is squatting, swinging a golf club or picking up your grandchildren.
Here at PeakRx Physical Therapy, we treat any and all musculoskeletal disorders including but not limited to:
Your therapy will include a full, in-depth evaluation to establish goals and a plan of care customized for you.
Treatment is highly education based to help you learn proper movements that are right for you, so you can continue your healing independently in between visits. Our facility allows us to use higher level movements, exercise, and equipment for your rehab. Making sure your rehab mimics your goals is crucial to full recovery.
Due to our ability to treat you one-on-one for a full hour, coming to therapy for the traditional “3 times weekly for 4 weeks” is unnecessary. The average number of visits required before discharge at PeakRx is almost half compared to most in-network clinics.
Physical therapy is an essential part of a woman’s healthcare team to allow for a safe and healthy pregnancy, support for labor and delivery, and the pelvic floor and abdominal recovery in the postpartum time period.
At PeakRx, we specialize in this season of life for women with expert knowledge in the changes that happen during pregnancy and how to apply that to a woman wanting direction on navigating life and fitness. Benefits of physical therapy during pregnancy can include:
Relief of pain and discomfort
Baby positioning techniques at the end of your third trimester.
Education on proper mechanics for everyday activities to decrease the risk of injury (lifting, caring for older siblings, housework etc).
Knowledge on safe and effective exercises/mobility work to perform while pregnant.
Help in navigating pre-pregnancy exercise efficacy and safety.
Positioning, proper pushing techniques, relaxation.
We firmly believe every woman who has had a baby should see a pelvic health physical therapist to ensure core and pelvic floor restoration! Studies show that early therapy intervention can help decrease the likelihood of long term issues following birth. Whether you have recently had a baby, or have in the past, it is never too late to address some of the problems that arise after having a baby.
We believe in a “no woman left behind” approach in that every woman deserves to get back to normal life, boot camp, running or yoga without the fear of leakage, pain or weakness after childbirth.
Physical therapy for the postpartum mom can include:
Full pelvic floor evaluation checking for integrity, strength, and tension
Education on care for perineal tears, cesarean scars, and birth-related injuries
Postural education for baby care and feeding (breast or bottle) to avoid pain
Pelvic floor and abdominal restoration exercises
Postpartum return to exercise guidance
Having babies is not the only reason we might need to address our pelvic health. Here at PeakRx, we specialize in treating pelvic floor and abdominal dysfunctions. Common issues we can treat are:
We are experts in integrating pelvic health treatment to help our patients not only get back to day to day living but participate in the fitness and activities they love to do most!
